Emergency Mobility Grants 2027: Roberto Cimetta Fund opens an emergency call

The Roberto Cimetta Fund is opening a call to fund professional travel for artists and cultural professionals from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Sudan. Applications are open until 1 November 2026.

In a crisis, the movement of artists stops before anything else. Tours are cancelled, residencies postponed, invitations left unanswered because nobody can pay for a plane ticket. This call has one purpose: to remove the practical obstacle that prevents a professional journey from taking place.

What the grant covers

Each grant can reach €600 and covers international and national travel, visa and consular processing fees, and a basic daily allowance. Most of it goes to transport, which is where applications most often break down.

Where the host structure is able to provide it, accommodation is covered on their side. The Fund also introduces beneficiaries to its partners on the ground. Neither of these comes out of the grant budget, but both are part of the support.

Who can apply

The call is open to artists and cultural professionals from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Sudan, whether they live in those countries or come from them and live elsewhere. Individual artists and constituted groups are both eligible. Cultural structures can take part only as hosts or inviting partners, within a professional collaboration.

There is no age limit. The call is restricted to performing arts and multidisciplinary practices. Three types of activity are supported: professional training, creation and residency, dissemination and networking.

Timeline

Applications are open from 21 September to 1 November 2026. Results will be announced on 30 November. Contracts will be issued in December and the first payment will be made between 2 and 15 January 2027. Travel can take place between 16 January and 30 June 2027.

Evaluation

Applications are reviewed by an independent committee against three criteria: relevance to the emergency context (40 points), project quality and feasibility (40 points), professional background (20 points).

What to submit

Your application includes the completed application form, an updated CV, a short portfolio or links to your work, and proof of partnership in the form of an invitation letter or agreement with a host structure. Applications are accepted in English, French and Arabic, in PDF format only.
